Community Arts Projects
Council both initiates and supports community arts projects, and seeks sponsorship from the state government and other organisations for these projects where appropriate.
Community History Writing Project
This project was based on a series of full-day workshops in which the participants learnt how to write a community history, how to bring it into the present, and how to project its spirit into the future for the purpose of helping build and maintain a sustainable community.

Along the way, the participants also learnt how to use different sorts of material (photos, letters conduct interviews, develop writing skills, and present their work in its finished form to their community. Since its inception in May 2003, the project grew to include a website, performance and poetry, and was presented to the public at a special event at Richmond Club on Friday 30 April 2004.
The facilitator of the project was Jan Cornall, a former recipient of an Australia Council Literature Board fellowship, and a seasoned actor, musician and writer for stage and screen.
