A healthy city has a stong current of professional and community-based cultural activity which gives expression to the community's aspirations and identity.
It also promotes economic growth through arts related employment or new enterprise developments, local festivals and events, and arts-focussed urban redevelopment strategies. Community based arts programs are powerful catalysts for developing healthy, viable communities.
