Australia Day 2008 Awards are now Open for nominationThe 2008 Hawkesbury Australia Day Award nominations are open for the community to nominate and recommend a person/s that they feel is worthy for one of the prestigious awards. The Hawkesbury Australia Day Awards recognise those in the community who continue to achieve and contribute. Whether it be in sport, in community arts, in community service, as a community member or as a young achiever. The awards, based on a process of nomination and selection by a Council committee, recognise achievements in the following categories:
The Hawkesbury City Council Australia Day Awards are held in conjunction with the Australia Day Council, and have been designed to recognise residents of the Hawkesbury who have made an outstanding contribution to the local community. The Hawkesbury City Council Australia Day Awards are open for public nominations in four categories: Young Citizen of the Year For significant contributions to the Hawkesbury community
Sportsperson Award For outstanding achievements in the sporting domain
Community Arts Award For significant contributions to the Hawkesbury’s cultural development
Commemorative Plaque Award This is a posthumous (5 years) award
You can nominate for a Hawkesbury Australia Day Award for 2008 by filling out a nomination form which can be obtained from Hawkesbury City Council - 366 George St, Windsor, by calling 4560 4430 or online click here. Citizen of the Year will be chosen from the 12 monthly winners. Citizen of the Month nominations are taken all year round. Click on the link at the bottom of this page for a Nomination form.
