National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

With Disability services currently unfunded, fragmented and inefficient, Council is encouraging residents to support the proposed National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The NDIS would create a consistent pool of funds from which support and services for people with a disability and their families could draw on.

Essential care, support, therapy, equipment, early intervention and training would be available.
1 in 5 Australians have some from of disability. It is estimated the NDIS will support 360,000 people nationally whose disability has a significant impact on their daily life.
