Commercial Response Unit

This page of the Website is under review and is to be replaced by a new Business Page to assist with general enquiries about operating a business in the local area .

Business Relations

Unfortunately due to Council's efforts to reduce expenditure, the Commercial Response Unit which was in part established to provided support and advice to local businesses and industry sectors to assist in area-wide and higher economic development, has been disbanded. As you may be aware, the Director of Commercial Strategy left earlier in the year [2007] and the position was not replaced.

However, Council will continue to implement the established/committed programs of the Commercial Response Unit and support valid local business initiatives, albeit without the same service level and a dedicated unit and staff for liaison.

Some of the programs that will continue to run include:

Hawkesbury Business Skills Program (Young Achievement Australia) - for future business leaders;
UWS Undergraduate Scholarship - for next generation career skills;
Business/civic infrastructure support - for directional signage;
Contract management - for Hawkesbury Business Awards and other business initiatives;
Corporate business development support;
Markets product development and support, like strategic/operational tourism activities (which may include the Visitor Information Centre) - as a business multiper program.
