Extra Recycling Services at Christmas and New Year

During this Christmas and New Year period in the Hawkesbury, Council will provide an extra two weeks of recycling services from Monday, 24 December 2018 to Friday, 4 January 2019. For all your extra recycling, just place your yellow lid recycling bin out on your scheduled bin collection day each week to receive the extra recycling collections.

Why Two Weeks?

The information from the past several years showed that the highest demand for recycling is the week of Christmas Day and the week of New Year’s Eve. Council aims to assist residents with their additional recycling over the busy Christmas and New Year period by offering extra recycling.

What if my bin collection day falls on a Public Holidays?

Bin Collection Days remain the same even on Public Holidays.

Extra Recycling? Free Drop Off at the Waste Management Facility.

Residents can access the Waste Management Facility, The Driftway, South Windsor, 8am-4pm, 7 days a week, excluding public holidays to drop off extra recycling and large pieces of cardboard from new appliances and household purchases.

Extra Bottles and Cans to Recycle? Use the Return and Earn program.

Bottles and Cans can be redeemed for 10 cents through the Return and Earn program. To find your closest drop off point visit https://returnandearn.org.au/

When do the extra recycling services end?

The Recycling Services will return to normal fortnightly collections after Friday, 4 January 2019.

In Area 1, which includes Richmond, Windsor, Bligh Park, Agnes Banks, Pitt Town and Yarramundi, the next recycling collection will be the week of 7 January 2019.

In Area 2, which includes North Richmond, Wilberforce and surrounding areas the next recycling collection will be the week of 14 January 2019.

Will my Garbage or Garden Organics Bin Collection Service be effected?

There are no changes to the garbage and garden organics bin collection services.
