From the Mayor's Desk
I’ll be slapping on my hat and sunscreen this weekend for Richmond Swimming Centre’s Pool Party from 11am to 2pm this Saturday, 18 February and I hope to see plenty of locals come along to cool down with Council.
Council will waive the entry to the pool for the day and is sponsoring a free sausage sizzle (expertly cooked by the Rotary Club of Richmond- thanks Rotary!), free entertainment, free giveaways for the first 100 people and even free snow cones! Children and adults alike will be out ot enjoy the day - and what a great chance to put Facebook aside and leave your Ipad at home as you jump into the cool pool with friends!
Our pool party is a special event that aims to help the community connect while visiting their local pool and sharing in the fun. Activities will include a jumping castle, a giant water slide and, for those aged eight years and over with substantial swimming ability, the U-Rippa Rip Generator.
Located at East Market Street, Richmond, Richmond Swimming Centre includes a shaded baby pool, an intermediate pool, a six lane Olympic pool, a shaded children’s playground, picnic areas, a kiosk and a half-court basketball area. The Centre has received several upgrades which include enhancing the water quality and filtration, the addition of thermal blankets and change room upgrades and picnic areas. Richmond Swimming Centre is open seven days from September to April and offers swimming lessons, parties, club nights and squad sessions. For more information, visit www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or call the Centre direct on (02) 4578 1349.
