Mayoral Column

Did you know that the Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal doorknock will be held over the weekend of 26-27 May? I’m asking all of our community groups, sporting clubs, workplaces, families and individuals to get involved by volunteering or making a donation.

I’m honoured to be appointed Chairperson of the 2018 Red Shield Appeal for Hawkesbury, and I hope I can encourage as many people as possible to help the Salvos. I think there's a real lift in compassion and resolve in our community to do something to make the Hawkesbury a better place for all, particularly for those doing it tough. I’d love to see local schools embrace the Red Shield Appeal with mufti day fundraisers, as it would make a huge difference to our campaign. To volunteer or donate, please call 13 SALVOS (13 72 58) or register online at www.salvos.org.au

I also want to tell you that Council is Connecting Our Community with eight Town Meetings in June, where you can hear about the work Council is doing and the work Council has planned. The LAUNCH EVENT will be held on Wednesday, 6 June at 6pm at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, 300 George Street, Windsor. Meetings are also planned for North Richmond, Glossodia, Pitt Town, Kurrajong, Colo Heights, Maraylya and St Albans. For details visit Council’s website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au You can also provide a written or video question! Submit your question online at www.bit.ly/askcouncil
