From the Mayor's Desk

Local residents visiting Bligh Park Community Centre Precinct this weekend will appreciate the new park furniture that has been installed recently.

There was plenty of goodwill at Bligh Park last week when I met our local Lions Club members at Bligh Community Centre Precinct.

We were celebrating the wonderful donation of $2794 from Hawkesbury South Lions Club for park furniture as part of their Centenary Project, with Hawkesbury City Council contributing $5000 for the concrete slab and installation.

It was such a pleasure to see the smiling demeanour of President David Brown, who was clearly thrilled to make a difference to the local community as part of the 100 year anniversary of Lions Clubs International.

Thanks to the generous donation from Hawkesbury South Lions Club, everyone can enjoy this new furniture which makes this Precinct an even more pleasant place to relax with family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who donated money to Hawkesbury South Lions Club, and to all the members and volunteers of the Club for their continued efforts for our community. It’s wonderful to see real partnerships between Council and local organisations that are strengthening our sense of community.

Bligh Park Community Centre Precinct is located at 4 Sirius Road, Bligh Park. It offers free or low cost services and programs for residents of Bligh Park and South Windsor. The adjoining hall is also available for hire for special events and to groups who offer classes or programs to local community members.
