Categories

Gardens will be judged in ONE of the following categories: (One category only can be entered)

All entrants go in the running for Grand Champion Garden and Best Regional Gardens

Note: Additional categories may be awarded at the discretion of the Judge.

TypeDescription
Best Residential GardenGardens on less than 1000m, surrounding a home.
Best Acreage GardenGardens greater than 1000m.
Best Small GardenIncludes patios, villa and balcony gardens.
Best Non ResidentialIncludes commercial gardens, institutional and industrial areas,
churches, hospitals, volunteer/community etc.
Best Seniors GardenGardener must be 60+ years of age.
Best Kids GardenGardeners must be 12 years or younger.
Best Schools Garden
1.Constructed and maintained by students
2. Constructed and maintained by staff.
Includes: pre-schools, primary, high and specialised schools.

The winners will be announced at a special ceremony to be held on Wednesday, 18 October 2017 at Windsor RSL, 36 Argyle Street, Windsor and the time of the presentation is 7pm.

Conditions of Entry
  1. All Gardens must be located in the Hawkesbury local government area.
  2. Entrants must specify what category they are entering into. One category only can be entered.
  3. The Judge reserves the right to include/change specified categories at their discretion. All participants are in the running for 'Grand Champion'.
  4. All prizes are awarded at the discretion of the judge, whose decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Entrants agree for the information listed on this form to be provided to the Hawkesbury Camera Club, Judge and local media for the purpose of the 2017 Garden Competition.
  6. Entrants agree to allow Hawkesbury City Council staff, Judge and representatives from the Hawkesbury Camera Club to enter the property for the purpose of judging and photography on the designated judging days – 15-17 September 2017, regardless of the entrants physical presence at the property. Hawkesbury Camera Club may liaise with entrants regarding alternate times for photography.
  7. Entrants agree to make their property safe for the purpose of judging and photography including the control of any domestic animals.
  8. Entrants agree to allow their gardens to be photographed by Hawkesbury City Council and representatives of the Hawkesbury Camera Club and that these images can be used to promote Hawkesbury City Council for any of their events/campaigns/programs.
  9. Hawkesbury City Council will not be liable for, or indemnify you against or respond to, any claims made for damage or injury suffered by you or a third party while participating in the Hawkesbury Garden Competition 2017. Property owners should seek their own advice in regard to their insurance position. It is recommended that you notify your own insurer of your intention to participate in the Competition. By submitting this entry form’ you understand and agree to the competition terms and conditions.
  10. Closing date for entries is Friday, 25 August 2017. The presentation evening will be held on Wednesday, 18 October 2017 at Windsor RSL, 36 Argyle Street, Windsor and the time of the presentation is 7pm.
