Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers

Hawkesbury City Council and the Roads and Maritime Service (formerly RTA) will host a free two-hour workshop that offers practical advice on how to help learner drivers become safer drivers. The workshop is free for parents and will be held on Thursday, 24 May 2012 from 6-8pm in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Center, 300 George Street, Windsor.

June is tax time. Are you a tax ready small business?

Hawkesbury City Council will be hosting a week of business activities in partnership with business support agencies and groups. The Small Business Hawkesbury Week will take place from June 4 to 8, and aims to provide small businesses in the Hawkesbury with direct access to information as well as contact with agencies that can help them to manage and grow their business even better.

Be part of National Simultaneous Storytime at Hawkesbury City Library

On Wednesday, 23 May 2012 at 11:00am Hawkesbury Central Library will join organisations from Broome to Hobart, simultaneously reading the picture book The Very Cranky Bear to more than 170,000 children across Australia. The story, written by Nick Bland and published by Scholastic Australia, is a wonderful Australian tale about friendship, sacrifice and learning that appearances aren't important.

Council wins Engineering Excellence Award for Innovative Approach

Hawkesbury City Council has won an Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (IPWEA) NSW Excellence Award. The award was presented at the IPWEA NSW 2012 Annual Conference on Tuesday, 8 May 2012 and recognised Council’s innovation in carrying out its recent Parks Asset Audit project.

Nominations invited for the Natalie Burton Memorial Award

Members of the Hawkesbury Community can now nominate any high school student for the 2012 Natalie Burton Memorial Award. Hawkesbury City Council is calling for nominations for the annual Natalie Burton Memorial Award on behalf of the Burton, Turner and Lawrance families. Residents are encouraged to nominate any high school student who they feel is a worthy recipient.

History lovers young, old and everywhere in between are encouraged to start developing their entries for the 2012 Dr Rex Stubbs OAM Memorial Annual Scholarship. Entries open from 1 June and close 31 August 2012.

Credit Card Details

From 1 April 2012 Hawkesbury City Council will no longer accept credit card payments via email, fax or post in order to meet new legislative requirements under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
