What: Presentation to participants of the workshop Sustainable Tourism Enterprise Partnerships (S.T.E.P.s)

Who: Mayor will present a Bronze Award to all 17 participants
Why: Participants worked through the Bronze Award Workbook designed to assist businesses to identify financial savings and opportunities for increased efficiency while strengthening the environmental and social performance of their business.
The process involves complete business assessment and the development of a fully operational management plan. Participants who completed the program are eligible for the accreditation and achievement by promoting a positive business image to consumers and the local community.
Multiple benefits gained from completing the program include:-
• potential for significant financial savings
• increased business efficiency
• improved knowledge of environmentally and socially responsible business practices
• free pr and marketing through the programs publicity and
• promotion of positive business image to consumers and community.
The initial workshop was held on Tuesday 26th May 2009, which Council facilitated in conjunction with the University of Western Sydney’s Hawkesbury Campus as part of a pilot program.
