2011 Spring Garden Competition
Are you a Hawkesbury resident who is already planning your spring garden? Then you can also join in this fun competition that encourages us all to take pride in our beautiful Hawkesbury.
Entries for the Spring Garden Competition have now closed.
Trim those hedges, plant some bloomers and vegies.
The competition is proudly brought to you by Hawkesbury City Council and major sponsors Bettergrow, Neutrog and Seasol.
First prize winners go in the running for ‘Champion Garden 2011’. Entries that have their garden judged are also automatically entered into the running to be named ‘Best Overall Garden’.
Photographs will be taken of all gardens and will be available for order on the presentation night through the Hawkesbury Camera Club.
Categories are:
- Best front garden
- Best heritage/formal garden
- Best urban streetscape
- Best acreage garden
- Best kids garden
- Best new garden
- Best non-residential garden (eg churches, retirement villages, hospitals, commercial landscapes),
- Best educational garden.
Judging will take place during the week of 26 – 28 September 2011:
- 26 September for gardens located in Richmond, Hobartville. Agnes Banks, Windsor, South Windsor, Bligh Park, Windsor Downs and Pitt Town.
- 27 September for gardens located in Vineyard, McGraths Hill, North Richmond, Glossodia, Freemans Reach, Wilberforce, Ebenezer, Kurrajong and Kurmond.
- 28 September for gardens located in Kurrajong Heights, Bilpin, Grose Wold, Grose Vale and Bowen Mountain.
