Free movie – Breaker Morant

The classic Australian war film, Breaker Morant, will be screened at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday, 14 September at 10am and again at 6pm.

Popcorn imageThis award-winning film, directed by Bruce Beresford, follows the court martial of three Australian lieutenants who stand accused of executing enemies as a way of deflecting attention from war crimes committed by their superior officers. Based on true events during the Second Boer War, it deals with the first war crime prosecution in British military history. A stirring courtroom drama that intelligently explores the issues of war, politics and injustice.

The movie will be shown in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor. Entry is free but bookings are essential via Eventbrite or call 4560 4460.

Refreshments will be available before the screenings and everyone is also welcome to bring along snacks and drinks. The movie runs for 102 minutes and is rated PG. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Suitability for viewing is at the discretion of the parent/carer.
