Free author talk by Annette Janic
Author Annette Janic will talk about her latest book War Child, at Hawkesbury Central Library on Tuesday, 28 March, from 6pm to 7:30pm.
War Child is the true story of the author’s mother, Magdalena (Leni) Janic. It offers a window into what life was like in pre WWII Nazi Germany and for a young illegitimate German girl growing up in poverty, coping with ostracism, bullying, abuse and dispossession; all as society was falling down around her. It is also a story of a woman’s unconditional love for her family, the sacrifices made and secrets kept to protect her family.
Come along to experience the story of survival, betrayal and secrets at this free talk. Copies of Annette’s new book will be available to purchase and to be signed.
The talk will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor. Refreshments will also be provided, so bookings are essential. Visit the EventBrite page to book or call (02) 4560 4460.
