School Holiday Activities at Hawkesbury’s Gallery and Library

Whether it’s colourful craft creations, a magic show, giant games or just diving into some great holiday reading, the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, Hawkesbury Central Library and Richmond Branch Library have a range of programs and activities to make these holidays the best ever. There are plenty of free drop-in activities, as well as structured workshops and events, all designed to engage, delight and amaze.

This summer the gallery opens its arms to holiday-makers, with a special (colourful) Art Lab full of fun drop-in art and craft type activities, and a vibrant, up-beat exhibition. Activities are designed for ages 2+. FREE, no need to book.

Using chalk pastels make a brightly coloured science picture.

Learn some simple yet super effective printmaking techniques.

MINI MODEL WORLDS

Using model making components and random objects create your own quirky little hidden world in a box.

ACCORDION BOOK ART

Create your own original illustrated folded book. Makes a great display piece or gift

SUMMER READING CLUB – GAME ON

The Summer Reading Club theme is Game on! Young readers are invited to register and pick up a starter pack at either library, then dive into an assortment of booksthat celebrate Aussie sporting culture. Be rewarded for every five books read - the more books read, the more prizes received.Books must be read between 1 December and 31 January. Entries close 7pm Wednesday 31 January.

GIANT GAMES

Challenge your friends and family to a range of giant games, including Snakes and Ladders where you are the game-token, Connect4 on a frame that stands a metre high, or Noughts and Crosses with pieces that are bigger than your hand! Different games available each week.
