Live and Local Music Hawkesbury
Get set for some great music and fun in the Hawkesbury in 2018!
Richmond and Kurrajong will showcase free micro-music festivals in March and April which will feature great musical talent from the Hawkesbury and across Western Sydney.
Hawkesbury City Council has received a tremendous response from musicians who are keen to join in ‘Live and Local Music Hawkesbury’.
As part of this program, Council is working with local businesses and musicians to create fun and vibrant, music filled town centres.
The free micro-music festivals promise to be great community events which will showcase musical talent from the Hawkesbury and across the Western Sydney.
The Live and Local program has been made possible thanks to Live and Local Strategic Initiative funding from Create NSW and the Live Music Office. Grant funding will pay local musicians, a curator and technicians, with all of these people being residents in Western Sydney.
In the case of bands or duos, 50 per cent of the artists in the band or duo will need to be residents in one of the 13 local government areas in Western Sydney: Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Camden, Canterbury-Bankstown, Campbelltown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta, Penrith, The Hills and Wollondilly.
The music programs are currently being created and details will be released as soon.
