Nominate now for Hawkesbury Sports Awards
Do you know an outstanding sports person, team, coach or volunteer in the Hawkesbury? Then it’s time to nominate them for the 2018 Hawkesbury Sports Awards!
The Awards are proudly brought to you by Hawkesbury City Council and sponsored by Lynwood Country Club.
The Sports Awards acknowledge sporting accomplishments of community members as well as the contributions of individuals to sporting clubs through support roles.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett has noticed a wider range of sports are being included in the nominations.
“We see all kinds of sports nominations from martial arts and dog training to swimming, cricket and soccer,” she said.
“It’s wonderful that we have the chance to meet and acknowledge so many keen sportspeople from the Hawkesbury every year.
“I encourage coaches, volunteers, team players and individual competitors of all ability levels to apply.
“No sporting accomplishment should be considered too big or too small for these awards, as our program is about community involvement, support and success,” the Mayor added.
“Council has recognised hundreds of members of our sporting community for over ten years, and our Sports Awards Program has improved and evolved to reflect the high standards of our sportspeople.
“Our Awards Night is a fantastic celebration and I can’t wait to meet more of our sports teams and individuals who have continued to succeed in their chosen sport,” she said.
“Council is also proud to have Lynwood Country Club on board as an event sponsor.”
