Draft Swimming Pools Inspection Policy on Public Exhibition

In accordance with Section 22B of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Council must develop and adopt a program for the inspection of swimming pools. This policy document will outline Council''s responsibilities for the inspection of swimming pools and spas in the Hawkesbury City Council Area to ensure compliance with the requirements of Part 2 of the Swimming Pools Act 1992.
The Draft Swimming Pools Inspection Policy can be viewed at the following locations:

  • Richmond Branch Library and Hawkesbury Central Library at Windsor
  • Online at Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

The community is invited to provide comment on the exhibited Draft Swimming Pools Inspection Policy via written submissions sent to Council by any of the methods listed below by close of business, Monday 16 December 2013.

Draft Swimming Pools Inspection Program on Public Exhibition

This document outlines the circumstances whereupon Council can or is otherwise obliged to carry out an inspection of a swimming pool or spa pool located on a property. It also outlines the process involved where there are non-compliances with the swimming pool barrier requirements.

Development Applications Recently Determined

Notice under Section 101 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, the following Development Consents were determined by Council.

The development consents are available for public inspection, without charge, at Council Offices. Office hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.


Integrated Development Proposal - Lot 180 DP 41869, 286 Windsor Street RICHMOND NSW 2753

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for the use of a stable building as a retail premises at the above property. The applicant is Montgomery Planning Solutions. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.

The proposed development is defined as integrated development under Section 91 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because an approval under the Heritage Act 1977 is required. The approval body is the NSW Heritage Office.

The development application and supporting information will be on public exhibition for the period 28/11/2013 to 31/12/2013. All plans and details may be inspected between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, at Council's Administration Office, 366 George Street, Windsor.

During the exhibition period any person may make a submission in writing to Council in relation to the development application, quoting reference DA0603/13. Where a submission by way of objection is made, the grounds for objection are to be specified in the submission. Should you lodge a submission, your views will be taken into account as part of our assessment and a reply will be forwarded to you when the application is determined.

Please note that confidentiality is not available to objectors. The details of any submissions may be included in a Council report or forwarded to the applicant where it may help to resolve design or operational problems. Information (including copies of submissions) may also be released in accordance with Council Policy for Access to Information.

If you have any concerns about the proposal, it is suggested that you speak with the assessing officer so that all aspects may be fully discussed. Matters such as privacy, overshadowing and impact on adjoining owners are a normal part of our assessment.

Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest - Hawkesbury Access and Inclusion Committee Community Representatives Community Programs Coordinator

Expressions of Interest are invited from persons who have the experience and / or knowledge of disability issues - with a particular focus on disability access matters - to be appointed to Hawkesbury City Council’s Access and Inclusion Committee as a community representative.

The Access and Inclusion Committee has been established by Council to provide a forum for the discussion and resolution of access issues impacting on people with a disability. The Committee will also work with Council staff on the development of an Access and Inclusion Plan for the Hawkesbury.

The Committee’s operations will be governed by a Constitution adopted by Council. Community representatives appointed to the Committee will be required to conduct themselves in accordance with the Hawkesbury City Council Code of Conduct.
