Proposal to build a Rural Fire Brigade Station at Freemans Reach Reserve

The Hawkesbury Rural Fire Service is seeking to construct a new Brigade Station at Freemans Reach Reserve. The Reserve is located at the intersection of Kurmond Road and Gorricks Lane. The proposal is for the building to be setback from the road by 8 metres, facing the hard stand/ gravel drive, which is shared by the users of the tennis courts. The building proposed is approximately 14m x 15m.

As the proposed site is Crown Land under Council’s care and control, and a fire station is not currently permitted on the site, amendments to the controls applying to the reserve are required. Council's report outlining the event proposal can be viewed on the homepage of Council's website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au under Consulting the Community.

The community is invited to provide comment on the proposed new brigade station via written submissions forwarded to Council by any of the methods listed below by close of business, Friday, 18 October 2013. Please address all submissions to the General Manager, Hawkesbury City Council, titled 'Proposal to build a Rural Fire Brigade Station at Freemans Reach Reserve'.
