Notice of Approval for burning under the Protection of the Environment Operations (Clean Air) Regulation 2010

At the Council meeting on 29 September 2015, Council adopted the Notice of Approval regarding pile burning of dead and dry vegetation. This allows the burning of dead and dry vegetation grown on that property for either of the following:

  • On land which is 4,000 square metres (one acre) or greater, and
  • On land that is designated as an Extreme Risk under the Hawkesbury Bush Fire Risk Management Plan, subject to compliance with the conditions of the Notice of Approval. If the Notice of Approval is complied with, no further approval from Hawkesbury City Council is required. The notice will remain in force for a period of 5 years, commencing on 9 November 2015. The Notice of Approval can be viewed at Council Offices or at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

Environmental Health Officers - CP015RS

1 x Temporary Maternity Relief – up to 12 months
1 x Part-Time 14 hours per week

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officers to join our Environment and Regulatory Services Team.

Both positions will play an important role in educating our community and applying Environmental Health practices proactively. Duties will include functions such as pollution control, public health, inspections of sewage management facilities, policy development and general administration.

It is essential that you have a relevant degree, a current driver’s licence, together with a solid working knowledge of Local Government and Protection of the Environment Operations Acts.

The maternity relief position is a full time role, salary is negotiable from $68,310 pa, plus 9.5% superannuation, leaseback vehicle and 9 day fortnight.

The part time role is 14 hours per week, days of work are Thursdays to Fridays. Salary is negotiable from $525.46 gross per 14 hour week, plus 9.5% superannuation. University students in final year of studies may also be considered for this role.

To be considered for this position, ideally you would have completed your HSC and have some customer service and computer experience. You must also be willing to undertake tertiary studies (Cert 111 in Library and Cultural Services). As a requirement of this Traineeship it is essential that you do not already possess a Certificate III or higher-level qualification.

Commencing Salary will range from $377.80 to $585.80 per week dependant upon age and level of school qualification. Applicants should note that continuing employment beyond the eighteen (18) month traineeship period cannot be guaranteed.
