POSITIONS VACANT

Major Plant Operator - Construction & Maintenance - IS008CM

We currently have a vacancy in the Construction and Maintenance Branch for a Major Plant Operator. Duties will involve the operation of a range of plant, including graders, loaders, backhoes and trucks as well as manual fieldwork associated with construction/maintenance projects.

The successful person must have the appropriate licences for the operation of heavy plant, including a current class MR Licence and WHS General Induction Certificate. Previous experience in operating heavy plant and the ability to read plans and offsets to produce a quality finish is also essential.

The position is classified under Council’s salary structure as Grade 8, with a commencing rate of pay of $960.58 gross per week plus an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $14.20 per week as well as 9.5% superannuation and the opportunity to progress through Council's Salary System. Excellent working conditions apply including a nine-day fortnight working agreement.

Manager Human Resources - GM005HR

Salary negotiable from $102,000pa + 9.5% Super

+ leaseback vehicle and a 19 Day Month

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for the development, review and implementation of effective Human Resource strategies, policies and programs that meet with corporate objectives and legislative requirements for the benefit of the organisation, management and staff.

The successful applicant must have tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field; a Class C Licence; as well as sound experience in a diverse human resource role including recruitment; performance management; salary administration; industrial relations and training. Local Government experience would be highly regarded.

This person must have well developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to relate to staff and management at all levels is also essential. Excellent mediation and negotiation skills are also necessary.
