Consulting the Community

Draft Voluntary Planning Agreement for Lot 8 DP 7565, 136 Longleat Lane, Kurmond       Council is exhibiting a draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (draft VPA) that will apply to Lot 8 DP 7565, 136 Longleat Lane, Kurmond.

The draft VPA is complementary to a proposed amendment to Hawkesbury Local Environmental Plan 2012 which will enable the development of the site into four large lot housing allotments.

The objective, nature and effect of the draft VPA is for the developer to provide Council with a cash contribution of $30,000 for each vacant housing lot created. It is anticipated that contributions collected by Council will be expended on local and district infrastructure and facilities such as, but not necessarily limited to, cycleways, bus shelters, landscape and park embellishments and local road improvements to serve the needs of the community as a consequence of the development.

The draft VPA, an Explanatory Note and other supporting documentation are on public exhibition 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday at the Council offices, 366 George Street, Windsor for the period Friday 8 April 2016 to Monday 9 May 2016 and can be viewed on Council’s website at http://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/development/development-information/planning-policies/planning-agreements/draft-voluntary-planning-agreements or on Council’s online community engagement tool site www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au.

Interested persons are invited to inspect the draft VPA, Explanatory Note and other supporting documentation. Written submissions concerning the provisions in the draft VPA may be made to Council throughout the abovementioned exhibition period. Submissions should be referenced “136 Longleat Lane, Kurmond VPA” and can be posted to Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 146, WINDSOR NSW 2756, faxed to (02) 4587 7740, or emailed to council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au throughout the exhibition period.

The last day for the receipt of submissions is Monday 9 May 2016.

We are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join our Parks & Gardens Branch.

Working as part of a small team your duties will include, but not limited to tree work, mowing, brushcutting, construction and maintenance activities such as installing bollards, irrigation work and path paving. You must have an MR Licence; a WH&S General Induction Certification; good interpersonal/teamwork skills to promote a positive public image.

Applicants with previous work experience in the tree industry will be highly regarded.

Salary:- Grade 6 with a commencing rate of pay of $887.28 gross per 38 hour week plus an Industry Allowance of $14.60 per week, superannuation and the opportunity to progress through Council's Salary System.

Excellent working conditions

9 Day Fortnight

You will be required to assist with a range of general labouring and maintenance duties associated with the operation of Council's Sewerage reticulation system, sewage treatment plants and pumping stations.

Applicants must have a WH&S General Induction Certification, a Class C Drivers Licence and an aptitude in the maintenance of mechanical equipment. Ideally you should also have previous work experience in the sewage field or construction/building industry.

This position requires participation in weekend work and on call duty roster. Applicants must be willing to obtain a Class MR Licence, confined space entry certification and Crane Licence within the first 6 months of employment.

Salary: - Grade 6, with a commencing rate of pay of $887.28 gross per 38 hour week plus an Industry Allowance of $38.70 per week and 9.5% superannuation.
