Public Exhibition of Draft Operational Plan 2016/2017     Each year Hawkesbury City Council outlines its activities for the coming year through an Operational Plan.

The Draft Operational Plan 2016/2017 identifies the proposed projects, programs and activities to be undertaken during 2016/2017. The Operational Plan also contains a Statement of Revenue Policy, which includes fees and charges and information regarding rates and annual charges. Estimated income and expenditure and the capital works program for 2016/2017 are also included.

The draft Operational Plan 2016/2017 will be on public exhibition for the period Friday, 22 April 2016 to Friday, 20 May 2016. You can view the draft plan at Council’s Administrative Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, on Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au, or on Council’s online community engagement site www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au.

Written submissions regarding the Draft Operational Plan may be made any time to Council during the exhibition period and can be sent to Council by any of the following methods:

Administration Officer - IS015CM

We are looking for a motivated competent person to provide administration support to our Operational staff based at Council’s Works Depot.

To be successful in this role you must have previous experience in an office environment, with sound PC skills - including MS Office and corporate systems software and databases, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the flexibility to adapt to a wide range of tasks. A certificate level qualification in office administration or equivalent is also required.

Salary;- Grade 8, commencing rate of pay of $960.58 gross per week for 35 hours, plus 9.5% Superannuation. Excellent working conditions apply, including a 9 day fortnight working arrangement.

Events and Community Engagement Coordinator - GM018CC

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced and skilled Events & Community Engagement Coordinator to help establish the Hawkesbury as an event friendly destination and to support and develop Council’s events and community engagement programs.

You will be working within a small but dynamic Corporate Communication Team. You will assist in coordinating Council’s events programs and be responsible for building and administering processes to ensure that the City delivers quality, successful and sustainable events. You will be responsible for Council’s online community engagement site and events Facebook page. You will also provide support with general public relations and media relations. The successful applicant will assist and encourage external and internal event organisers to realise events that will add vibrancy to our many towns and villages and capitalise on the rich opportunities that the Hawkesbury offers.

To be successful in the role we are looking for a professional with demonstrated experience in event management and community engagement programs preferably within a government setting. Applicants will be responsible for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and therefore must have strong communication and negotiation skills, be highly organised, able to work independently, have excellent IT skills and be across all social media platforms. Photography and or graphic design skills are desirable but are not a requirement for the position. Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or in Communications, Public Relations or a related field are essential.

Live in Caretaker Upper Colo Reserve - IS066PR

Must provide own Accommodation

Council prides itself on providing quality public reserves for the community to enjoy.

We are currently looking for a caretaker to manage the camping site at Upper Colo Reserve, Colo. The camping area is isolated so the caretaker will need to be willing to live on site and must provide own accommodation.

The person will be working by themselves and their duties will include: the collection of fees, opening and locking of gates, cleaning of the public facilities, cleaning and maintenance of shelters and BBQ areas, rubbish removal, and other general labouring duties such as brush cutting.

Applicants must have good communication skills to promote a positive public image and have a good level of fitness. Previous experience cleaning public areas would be an advantage.

The position is classified under Council’s salary structure as Grade 6, with a casual hourly rate of $29.19 per hour. Hours of work are approximately 20 hours per week in summer and 10 hours per week in winter which may change depending on the weather and other circumstances.

Code of Meeting Practice - JR 0554

At its meeting on 12 April 2016, Council resolved to place its existing Code of Meeting Practice on public exhibition, in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993, seeking submissions for any amendments to the Code.

In accordance with that decision, Council’s existing Code of Meeting Practice is placed on public exhibition until Friday, 3 June 2016 and may be viewed on Council’s website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or at Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor. Hawkesbury Small Business Week 2016 - JR 0554

Local business is a vital contributor to our Hawkesbury community and economy. Hawkesbury City Council will host workshops to help businesses improve their skills in running a business every day. Local business owners, employers and employees are welcome to attend and learn some new skills.

Business skills workshops provided by program partners: Hawkesbury Business Enterprise Centre, Western Sydney Business Centre and State Government agencies.
