The Hawkesbury Australia Day Awards acknowledge the outstanding citizens of the Hawkesbury. The awards recognise long-term commitment and significant one-off contributions to the Hawkesbury.

The Awards program has nine categories for nominations:

Exhibition of Planning Proposal - Lot 87 DP 1040092, 219 Bells Line of Road, North Richmond

Council is exhibiting a planning proposal affecting Lot 87 DP 1040092, 219 Bells Line of Road, North Richmond (the subject site).

The objective of the planning proposal is to enable the subdivision of the subject site into two lots with a minimum lot size of not less than 4ha. The planning proposal aims to achieve this intended outcome by amending the Lot Size Map of Hawkesbury Local Environmental Plan 2012 to change the minimum lot size for the subdivision of the subject site to 4ha.

The planning proposal and other supporting documentation is on public exhibition for the period Friday 2 September 2016 to Monday 3 October 2016.

Exhibition of Planning Proposal - Part of Lot 21 DP 806993, 6 Speedwell Place, South Windsor

Council is exhibiting a planning proposal affecting part of Lot 21 DP 806993, 6 Speedwell Place, South Windsor (the subject site).

The objective of the planning proposal is to rezone part of the subject site from RU1 Primary Production to IN1 General Industrial under the provisions of Hawkesbury Local Environmental 2012 (the LEP) to allow development of that part of the subject site for general industrial purposes and retain the remainder of the subject site for rural purposes. The planning proposal aims to achieve this intended outcome by amending the Land Zoning Map of the LEP to change the zoning of that part of the subject site to IN1 General Industrial.

The planning proposal and other supporting documentation is on public exhibition for the period Friday 19 August 2016 to Monday 19 September 2016.

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for - Intensive Plant Agriculture - Bank Stabilisation Works and the construction of an access area for the Irrigation Pump at the above property. The applicant is Monaghan Surveyors Pty Ltd. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.

The proposed development is defined as integrated development under Section 91 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because an approval under the Water Act 1912 is required. The approval body is the Department of Primary Industries - Water.

Live in Caretaker for the Upper Colo Reserve Camping area - IS066PR

Council prides itself on providing quality public reserves for the community to enjoy.

We are currently looking for a caretaker to manage the camping site at Upper Colo Reserve, Colo. The camping area is isolated so the caretaker will need to be willing to live on site and must provide own accommodation.

The person will be working by themselves and their duties will include: the collection of fees, opening and locking of gates, cleaning of the public facilities, cleaning and maintenance of shelters and BBQ areas, rubbish removal, and other general labouring duties such as brush cutting.

Applicants must have good communication skills to promote a positive public image and have a good level of fitness. Previous experience cleaning public areas would be an advantage.

The position is classified under Council’s salary structure as Grade 6, with a casual hourly rate of $30.00 per hour. Hours of work are approximately 20 hours per week in summer and 10 hours per week in winter which may change depending on the weather and other circumstances.
