Regional Museum Exhibitions Launch will be a great day outThis weekends Inaugural Exhibitions Launch and Open Day to held at Hawkesbury Regional Museum, on Sunday 18 May, International Museum Day will be a great day of activities and enjoyment for the whole family. The Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, AC CVO, will be the guest of honour and will officially launch the exhibitions at 11am. There will be fun activities for everyone including performances by:
There will be historical characters in beautiful outfits organised by The Hawkesbury Historical Society and plenty of free giveaways and activities for the children. Windsor Rotary will be providing a sausage sizzle and drinks. Members of the community are invited to attend and enjoy the many activities on the day. Be amongst the first visitors to experience the exciting permanent exhibition featuring the themes of the River, the Land and the People. Also available to wander through will be four interesting temporary exhibitions which include a brief history of the Scheyville Migrant Centre; Moving Images of the Hawkesbury; The Collectors: Eric Mitchell's model boat collection; and an eclectic selection of chairs from the Hawkesbury Historical Society's collection.
