The Roads and Traffic area is responsible for managing and advising on most 'Road and Traffic Issues/Projects' in the Hawkesbury area.

Council’s Adopt-a- Road program is a great opportunity to improve the appearance and safety of roads in the Hawkesbury and enhance the natural beauty for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
Hawkesbury City Council encourages both local and visiting cyclists to enjoy the benefits of its cycle network, whilst enjoying many of the attractions on offer.

The Hawkesbury Mobility Plan incorporates a revised Bike Plan for the area, and a Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan focusing on the major town centres of Richmond, North Richmond and Windsor - including Bligh Park, South Windsor and Hobartville.
The Roads and Traffic Authority RTA is co-ordinating some road projects in Hawkesbury LGA. Current projects include the Bells Line of Road Corridor Plan and the Windsor Bridge upgrade.
Council supports and delivers road safety programs and awareness raising campaigns throughout the year. These include campaigns which aim to reduce the incidence of road related injury by reducing speeding and drink driving, supporting correct child restraint fitting and installation, supporting school zone safety, learner driver workshops and other specialised campaigns.
