School Citizen

Students are selected for various reasons including:

  • academic achievements
  • contribution to the school community
  • displaying personal qualities important to the school’s spirit

Councillors attend where possible, presenting the awards to the majority of school presentation ceremonies in the local area. This demonstrates the importance Council places on the School Citizenship Program and recognise the student publicly in front of their parents, fellow students and teachers, for their outstanding contributions to the school and the community.

Councillors are proud to be able to participate in the various schools' presentation ceremonies because of the vital role schools play in developing the qualities that make future good citizens in our society.

Each student receives a presentation folder containing a Certificate, and Book Sticker signed by the Mayor and General Manager of Hawkesbury City Council as well as a book voucher and a letter of congratulations from the Mayor.

Students are nominated by the School's Principals and Teachers and are currently awarded in conjunction with the Annual Presentation Ceremonies held by Schools in November/December each year.
