Survey of artists from the Bilpin international ground for Creative initiatives residency, which attracts and supports the professional development of artists from many and varied fields, including visual arts, performing arts, literature, music, photography, film, and hybrid arts. Because of its location, many BigCi artists in residence are interested in projects that explore environmental or ecological issues, while others use the beautiful natural surroundings as a source of creativity for a variety of different artistic pursuits.
In 2014, Hawkesbury Regional Gallery began developing and supporting artist residencies at BigCi for artists to develop new work to be included in our exhibition program. For Exploring BigCi the gallery has supported three residencies: for Kath Fries, from Sydney; Paul Mosig & Rachel Peachy, from The Blue Mountains, and our first international resident, Nandita Mukand from Singapore. As part of the exhibition, Nandita will be making a site-specific work during her residency, and completing the work in the gallery in the week leading up to the opening.
