Local Heritage Assistance Fund 2017 – 2018
Minor Improvements/Conservation Works to Heritage listed Residential Properties within Windsor and Richmond historic townships
Hawkesbury City Council and the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage are jointly funding the Local Assistance Fund 2017 – 2018 (the Local Heritage Assistance Fund) which is targeted at minor improvements/conservation works to heritage listed residential properties within the Windsor and Richmond historic townships.
The Local Heritage Assistance Fund recognises the importance of conserving, protecting and caring for heritage listed residential buildings in the historic townships of Windsor and Richmond. The main objectives of the Local Assistance Fund are:
- to promote community awareness of the significance of heritage listed residential properties within the Windsor and Richmond historic townships;
- to encourage owners of residential properties within Windsor and Richmond historic townships, through advice and small grants to employ simple measures to undertake minor improvements/conservation works to those historic buildings to maintain and improve their heritage significance; and
- to increase Council’s engagement with local heritage property owners.
Council is now inviting applications from owners or managers of heritage listed residential properties within Windsor and Richmond historic townships for the Local Assistance Fund, which provides dollar for dollar grant funding of up to $2,000 for minor conservation works to heritage listed residential properties within these two townships. The deadline for applications is Monday, 21 August 2017.
An evening information session will be held on Wednesday, 26 July 2017 at Council‘s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, in the Large Committee Room First Floor (up the ramp) between 6.30pm – 8pm. The session will include presentations by Council’s Heritage Advisor and Council Officers. The owners and/or managers of heritage listed residential properties within the Windsor and Richmond historic townships will be invited in writing to attend the information session.
