All food businesses are required under the National Food Safety Standards to notify the NSW Food Authority of certain information associated with the operation of their business. You will need to update your details whenever they change, for example, if the ownership contact details, such as address or telephone number changes.
The national notification system is proposed to assist in a number of important food safety issues including:-
- Food safety emergencies such as food recalls
- Informing all businesses of relevant legislation changes and compliance requirements
- Determining how many and what type of food businesses there are in New South Wales and where each is located

Free internet access is available for library members and visitors by appointment, at both Hawkesbury City Council's libraries (Windsor library hours are 9.00am-7.00pm Monday to Friday, 9.00am-1.00pm Saturday and 2.00pm-5.00pm Sunday. Richmond library hours are 9.30am-6.00pm Monday to Friday, and 9.00am-1.00pm Saturday.) Alternatively commercial internet cafes can be used or your business accountant may be able to arrange for notification on your behalf.
