Mayoral Column

Over the past few weeks Hawkesbury City Councillors and I have been attending local school presentation assemblies to award Hawkesbury City Council School Citizenship Awards to deserving students.

Students are selected for these awards by their schools for a number of reasons including academic achievements, contribution to the school community or perhaps for displaying personal qualities important to the school’s spirit. Recipients receive a certificate and a book voucher. It has been wonderful meeting so many talented young people within our community who are dedicated to their studies and their school life.

As in previous years, Council will be operating with reduced staffing levels from

Monday, 24 December 2018 until Wednesday, 2 January 2019. For more details please visit www.hawkebury.nsw.gov.au

On behalf of Hawkesbury City Councillors and staff, I would like to extend to you and your families very best wishes for a safe and happy festive season. Thank you to everyone who has supported the 2018 Mayoral Christmas Tree Appeal by donating presents for children and adults in need.

Christmas is a time to remember and attempt to assist those who are less fortunate than us. As a society we should do our best to include the community, as a whole, in our celebrations, especially those who do not have the comforts or family that we might have, to surround them. May 2019 be safe, happy and prosperous for you all.
