Mayoral Column

The Hawkesbury’s heritage towns, world class bakeries, distilleries, cafes and restaurants, plus nature and adventure experiences are special highlights in three new experience trails that have just been launched on www.discoverthehawkesbury.com.au

The experience trails offer the chance to discover your sense of adventure, treat your tastebuds or even become a natural explorer in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith.

The flavour, adventure and nature trails are part of a regional tourism project to attract more visitors to our region. We want to promote the region as a destination, attract more overnight visitors and boost the local tourism economy. Not only will visitors benefit from these great experiences, but our local businesses can also benefit from increased regional tourism.

I encourage our businesses to take advantage of this opportunity to promote their business to our visitors using social media, business listings and digital marketing.

Each trail offers a three-day, two-night itinerary and is available to visitors in an attractive, easy-to-follow printed or electronic document. The trails feature maps, distances, approximate drive times, travel tips, daily itineraries, suggested stops for food and views, adventure experiences, great cafes, hospitality and impressive natural attractions.

Electronic copies of the experience trails are available to view, download and print at www.discoverthehawkesbury.com.au and available free of charge in hard copy at the Visitor Information Centre at 328 Hawkesbury Valley Way, Richmond or Hawkesbury Regional Museum, 8 Baker Street, Windsor.
