Mayoral Column

Tomorrow night, 7 December, is the annual Light Up Windsor Street Fair from 5pm to 9pm, and it is bigger than ever with the event stretching from Thompson Square, George Street, through to Windsor Mall.

The community event will include free face painting, fun activities, roving performers, a special appearance by The Jitterbugs and school performances. There will be over 30 market stalls with Windsor’s local restaurants, pubs, eateries and shops staying open. Children will have the chance to meet Santa and even post a letter at his workshop. Our thanks go to Vineyard Community Church for the wonderful lit-up Christmas tree, and also to the event sponsors Windsor RSL, Prismatic Productions & Events, Talulah’s Event Hire, Hawkesbury Independent and Wildbunch Florist Windsor.

Hawkesbury Regional Museum and Howe House will open from 5pm-9pm and Hawkesbury Library Service will also host a pop up library at the Museum where families will be able make Christmas decorations and play some super-sized games. Make sure you also visit the Art Exhibition by Hawkesbury High School with sculpted letters spelling the words HOPE and POSITIVITY. Free parking will be available at Governor Phillip Park and for more information visit Council’s Hawkesbury Events Facebook page.

The Light up Windsor Street Fair is a long established initiative of the Windsor Business Group, and Hawkesbury City Council is proud to be working in partnership with Windsor Business Group for this event. I hope to see you all there!
