Mayoral Column

Are you coming along to our free pool party at Richmond on Saturday, 16 February? It starts at 11am and runs until 3pm at Richmond Swimming Centre, East Market Street, Richmond and there will be free entry to the pool, free entertainment and even a free sausage sizzle! Other activities will include a jumping castle, a giant water slide, and free giveaways for kids too. It’s a great way to cool down, so slap on your hats, sunscreen and swimmers and meet your friends at the pool for a great family fun day!

Richmond Swimming Centre includes a shaded baby pool, an intermediate pool, a six lane Olympic pool and change rooms as well as a shaded children’s playground.

I’m sure this free community event will be a great way for everyone to celebrate not only the end of summer, but the year of Richmond Swimming Centre’s 55th birthday!

Council has waived the entry fee at the pool for the celebrations to make it accessible for everyone, so I hope to see you there!

The kiosk will also be open as usual with ice cream, food and refreshments available to purchase.

The Richmond Swimming Centre was officially opened on 3 October 1964 and since then it has received several upgrades to enhance the water quality and filtration levels. Other additions include a half-court basketball area, a change room upgrade, and picnic areas.

For season opening hours or more information, visit Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or call 4560 4444. Richmond Swimming Centre’s direct contact number is 4578 1349.
