The 2019 Hawkesbury Sports Awards are proudly sponsored by Hawkesbury City Council. They acknowledge the sporting accomplishments of community members as well as the contributions of individuals to sporting clubs through support roles.
Nominations are invited for individuals and community groups who meet the selection criteria of one or more of the nine categories listed below. Nomination forms should provide as much detail as possible to assist with the judging process. Nominations must address the applicable category criteria listed below.
Council suggests preparing information for your nomination in a word document and copying and pasting into the form once completed to ensure no information is lost.
All nominations must be accompanied by a letter of support from the sporting organisation association the nominee represents.

Nominations close 5pm Monday, 1 April 2019
Council's Hawkesbury Civic and Citizenship Committee is responsible for assessing all nominations received based on the section criteria and select award recipients for each of the categories. Unsuccessful nominations can be resubmitted in subsequent years.
Sports Person of the Year
Awarded to a person aged 18 years and over who has demonstrated success or achievement as a player of sport in the Hawkesbury.
Junior Sports Person of the Year
Awarded to a person aged under 18 years of age who has demonstrated success or achievement as a player of sport in the Hawkesbury.
Senior Sports Person of the Year
Awarded to a person aged 60 years and over who has demonstrated success or achievement as a player of sport in the Hawkesbury
All Abilities Sports Person of the Year
Awarded to a person with a disability who has shown talent and enthusiasm for their sport in the Hawkesbury or wider community. This sports person must be a resident of the Hawkesbury, however, does not need to play for a Hawkesbury sporting organisation.
Team of the Year
Awarded to a team who has demonstrated success or dedication to sport in the Hawkesbury and beyond. This can be based on victories, team spirit or new achievement. The team must possess a high level of sportsmanship.
Official of the Year
Awarded to a person who has demonstrated excellence in their role as an official in their chosen sport in the Hawkesbury. An official includes; referee, umpire, judge, linesperson, timekeeper, touch judge, technical official or similar.
Coach of the Year
Awarded to a Coach that has been coaching for no less than three years and has achieved outstanding results or who has made an outstanding contribution to the Hawkesbury sporting community.
Sporting Excellence Medallion (previously known as Hawkesbury District Sports Medal)
Seeks to recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to, or represented the Hawkesbury in sport of any kind at a district or higher level for a minimum five continuous years.
Service to Sport Medallion (previously known as the Hawkesbury District Sports Certificate)
Seeks to recognise individuals that have supported their sport at the local club level for 5 years, 10 years, 15 years or any 5 years increment beyond this. Nominees may be drawn from all persons involved, from players or competitors, umpires and coaches right through to sport fundraisers and administrators.
All nominations must be verified by the sporting organisation or association in which the sports person, volunteer or coach is a member of.
A letter of support from the President or Secretary must be attached to your nomination.
