Live and Local Music Hawkesbury – Kurrajong gig guide

Live and Local Music Hawkesbury is coming to Kurrajong on Saturday, 14 April between 10am and 2pm! Don't miss out – there will be music by RAPT, Wombats Crossing, Antoinette and Friends and Macquarie Towns Brass, with roaming performances by Circus Solarus.

Three musical groups will be performing within business venues:

  • RAPT, at Feeding Frenze Café, at 10am, 11am and 12pm
  • Wombats Crossing, at The Village Kitchen Kurrajong, at 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm
  • Antoinetta and Friends, at Carey & Co., at 11am, 12pm and 1:30pm.

The sparkling musicianship of the trio RAPT – Rosie, Ann and Paul – spans traditional to classical to contemporary/indie and all music styles in between. Three strong vocals and six instruments bring energy to both arranged and original material.

The trio Wombats Crossing bring a ‘rich blend of delicacy and strength’ to their folk/Celtic sounds, with Christine’s exceptional folk singing skills; Rebecca’s experience as orchestral lead violinist; and Leigh’s capacity for harmonic invention.

Antoinetta and Friends is a jazz ensemble that plays popular tunes with a Latin jazz groove. Antoinetta’s Friends are an impressive collective of professional musicians who originally met through the Hawkesbury Jazz Club.  Antoinetta and Friends will feature the exceptional talents of John Hines on keys, saxophonist Ian Waddell, bassist Nick Henderson, percussionist Eddie Hancock and vocalist Antoinetta.

Macquarie Towns Brass and Circus Solarus will provide delightful roaming performances between 10am and 2pm.

In late 2017 Hawkesbury City Council was successful in its application to the Live Music Office and received $20,000 to connect local businesses with Western Sydney and local musicians. Funds are used to pay musicians and a music curator.
