Don’t miss Sydney Libraries’ most raved about author talk
Join us at Hawkesbury Central Library on Tuesday, 25 September from 10:30am to midday, as author Carolinda Witt shares her seven year investigation to uncover her grandfather's fascinating life, in her biographical book MI5s: Double Agent Celery.
Whilst researching her family history, Carolinda was surprised to discover that her mysterious grandfather was actually Walter Dicketts, MI5's double agent 'Celery.' An ex Royal Naval Air Service officer and confidence trickster, Walter had twenty-three fake names, and infiltrated the German Secret Service to bring back crucial secrets about Nazi invasion plans for Britain during WWII. He was a mixture of hero, crook, lover and cad. Of his six wives, two were mistresses, and his six children knew nothing about the existence of the others.
Carolinda was a recent guest on Richard Fidler's ABC Conversations, and was the most downloaded podcast in February 2018. Hawkesbury Library Service is delighted to feature Carolinda Witt in our program and see why Libraries across Sydney have enthusiastically praised her author talks.
Bookings are essential via www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.
The free talk will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor, commencing at 10:30am followed by tea and coffee, and book signing. Copies of Carolinda’s book will be available for purchase at the event.
