Ten non-profit organisations and community groups have shared in more than $67,000 funding from the ClubGRANTS schemeThe Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett formally announced the funding at a recent presentation at Hawkesbury City Council Chambers. Representatives from the donating clubs awarded the cheques to the successful organisations.

The ClubGRANTS scheme replaces the Community Development Support Expenditure Scheme which was introduced in 1998. The scheme was developed to advise registered clubs on priority needs in distributing a percentage of gaming machine profits to local organisations.

Since beginning the scheme’s close to $1 billion to recipients, has been provided by registered clubs to communities across New South Wales to support schools, charities, sporting groups, agencies working with the disadvantaged and health services.

The Scheme is open to non-profit community organisations that have projects which address community welfare, community development, and community health and employment assistance activities.
