Sydney Science Festival 2018 at Hawkesbury Central Library

Hawkesbury Library Service is delighted to be participating in the Sydney Science Festival during National Science Week. Join Dr Ian Wright as he explains what happens to the Hawkesbury-Nepean River system: the water supply of Sydney and the recipient of pollution and human waste.

Hawkesbury River credit David ThompsonEver wonder what happens when you flush the loo or wash the clothes and how much of this water waste makes its way into our river systems? Right now, huge quantities of effluent from a rapidly-increasing human population are entering our river systems every day. Our river environments are much more sensitive to these inflows than many of us realise. These rivers are our lifeblood for food, agriculture, and our quality of life in the Hawkesbury. So what does the future for the Hawkesbury-Nepean River system look like?

Tickets are free however bookings are essential, via www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.

The event will be held on Tuesday, 14 August at 6pm at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor.
