Adopt a new furry friend

Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter has had a run of cats come in recently and they need your help.

Photo of a catThere are so many beautiful and friendly cats to choose from, so why not give them second chance? There are young cats full of play and older cats who would love to sit on a quiet nanna’s lap while she knits.

All cats are desexed, microchipped and lifetime registered before leaving the Shelter for their new home.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett is encouraging people to choose a pet from the local Shelter rather than a pet shop.

“Hawkesbury City Council receives cats and dogs from the four local government areas of Penrith, Hornsby, Hills and Hawkesbury,” Mayor Lyons-Buckett said.

“Our Shelter staff will be happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about caring for cats or what individual cats’ personalities are like to find one that suits you,” she said.
