Sydney Writers’ Festival 2018 at Hawkesbury Central Library
Hawkesbury Library Service will participate in the Sydney Writers’ Festival this year by hosting award winning novelist Felicity Castagna in conversation about her recent novel ‘No More Boats’, on Wednesday, 2 May, from 6pm to 7:30pm.
The novel is set in 2001, during the Tampa affair, as media outlets scream out that the country is being flooded and overrun by immigrants. Antonio, once an immigrant himself, has been forced to retire, his wife has left him for the woman next door, and amid his growing paranoia a ghost commands him to write ‘No More Boats’ in giant letters across his front yard. This is the story of a man and a nation unravelling together.
Copies of Felicity’s book will be available for purchase and signing on the night. Bookings are essential, via www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460. Tickets cost $5 for this event with light refreshments included.
The event will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor.
