Free movie – Dead Calm
Dead Calmwill screen at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday, 14 June at 10am and again at 6pm.
The Australian suspense film follows married couple (Nicole Kidman and Sam Neil) sailing their yacht through the Pacific, as they encounter a damaged boat and a distraught man. But he is not what he seems and their efforts to assist him, lead them into danger. This edge of your seat thriller is based on the 1963 novel by Charles Williams, and was first filmed by Orson Welles, but remained unfinished.
On loan from the National Film and Sound Archive, the movie will screen in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor. Entry is free, bookings, though not essential but appreciated, can be made via Eventbrite www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.
Tea and coffee will be available before the screenings and everyone is also welcome to bring along their own snacks and drinks. The movie runs for 89 minutes and is rated M. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Suitability for viewing is at the discretion of the parent/carer.
