The Library provides free access to a number of useful family history databases including Ancestry and Find My Past.
Local History Librarian, Michelle Nichols will help you discover some of the amazing resources available through these databases. The session will be held on Tuesday, 5 June 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Cost is $5. Please book online http://hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.
On Wednesday, 13 June at 10am, come along to the Hawkesbury Family History Group Meeting and get some great tips about Familysearch from John Parton. Familysearch is the organisation managed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who have been collecting and sharing genealogical records worldwide for over 100 years. A lot of material has been digitised and now is accessible online from their website www.familysearch.org
John will expand on how these records can help you learn more about your family history. The meeting is free and anyone interested in family and local history is welcome to attend.
