Free movie – Dead Letter Office

Dead Letter Office will screen at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday, 8 November at 10am and again at 6pm.

Dead Letter Office is a 1998 Australian drama starring Miranda Otto as Alice Walsh. Miranda Otto’s father, Barry Otto, also features in the film.

After Alice’s father abandoned her as a child, she continued to maintain contact with him by writing letters, not realising he never received them.

In an attempt to track him down, she takes a job at the dead letter office, where the letters she wrote are returned. What awaits her there is more than she expects.

The movie, on loan from the National Film and Sound Archive, will screen in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor. Entry is free. Bookings are not essential, however would be appreciated via Eventbrite or call 4560 4460.

Tea and coffee will be available before the screenings and everyone is also welcome to bring along their own snacks and drinks. The movie runs for 93 minutes and is rated M. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Suitability for viewing is at the discretion of the parent/carer.

Movies @ your Library events are held on the second Thursday of the month, except January.
