Richmond Swimming Centre’s 55th birthday

Hawkesbury residents celebrated Richmond Swimming Centre’s 55th birthday recently with a huge pool party. Kids and adults alike splashed into party mode with free entertainment, a free sausage sizzle, free slushies and free pool entry.

Richmond Swimming PoolThe Hawkesbury City Council event saw around 1000 people cooling down in the pools with their free beach balls, pool toys, jumping castle, giant water slide and the Dunk Tank.

Children aged eight years and over had the chance to learn about swimming safety and how to cope with a rip using the very popular and educational U-Rippa Rip Generator, which included instructional talks from U-Rippa owner operator, Scott Bland.

Hawkesbury Regional Gallery provided free art and craft activities while YMCA Hawkesbury Stadium provided free archery lessons. The DJ kept the groove going all day with plenty of adults and children dancing around to the music.

Council also had a Royal Life Saving Australia information stall at the Pool Party to promote Royal Life Saving Australia’s water safety campaign.

Located at East Market Street, Richmond, Richmond Swimming Centre includes a shaded baby pool, an intermediate pool, a six lane Olympic pool and change rooms as well as a shaded children’s playground.
