Our community celebrates Australia Day on the Hawkesbury 2019

Thousands of people enjoyed the free family fun, food and fireworks community event proudly hosted by Hawkesbury City Council on Saturday, 26 January 2019 on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor.

As part of the special event, Council acknowledged the traditional custodians of the land, the Darug people, and showed respect for elders past, present and future and extended that respect to all Aboriginal people.

The special event included an outdoor stage with live entertainment including local artists and the ‘Lets Groove Tonight’ band, waterslides and carnival rides, food and drink stalls plus food trucks. There was also free face painting, children’s activities and games, roving entertainment, the RAAF Striker Fire Truck on site for public access 6pm to 8pm, and spectacular fireworks at 9pm.

Australia Day on the Hawkesbury 2019 was proudly sponsored by Windsor RSL, Hawkesbury Race Club, Richmond Club, Hillbilly Cider and Prismatic Productions.
