Hawkesbury Fest a huge success

Council’s free family event, Hawkesbury Fest, was a huge success, with up to 6,000 people coming along to enjoy the fun activities on Sunday, 21 July at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor.

In addition to the first birthday celebration of the new playspace at Governor Phillip Park, activities included free amusement rides, free face painting, roving entertainment, hula hoop and juggling workshops, flyball dog displays and free showbags.

Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter also promoted pets for adoption and provided free microchipping for all dogs that were brought to the dog-friendly event.

Hawkesbury Library, Hawkesbury Regional Gallery and Hawkesbury Regional Museum provided free interactive craft activities, while Hawkesbury Community Nursery gave away native plants. YMCA Hawkesbury OASIS offered fun inflatable games and Hawkesbury Visitor Information Centre had information and advice on great things to do and see in the local area.

There were also 54 market and community group stalls plus plenty of food trucks.

Hawkesbury Fest was also the launch event for Local Government Week, which will be celebrated in the Hawkesbury from Monday, 29 July to Sunday, 4 August 2019. For the full list of Local Government Week events, see the promotional flyer at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.auCouncillors - Hawkesbury Fest
