Hawkesbury Fest Playground first birthday celebration
To launch Local Government Week, Council will host a free community event, ‘Hawkesbury Fest’ on Sunday, 21 July 2019 from 10am to 3pm at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert is encouraging local residents to come along to the community event which will include first birthday celebrations of the playground opening last year.
“Following the huge success of the inaugural event in 2018 we will again be showcasing the way that Hawkesbury City Council is engaging with our community,” the Mayor said.
“Hawkesbury Fest returns as a free event with rides, craft activities, face painting, roving entertainment, hula hoop workshops, juggling workshops, food, flyball dog displays, giveaways, 50 community groups and market stalls and more.”
“We will also be celebrating the first birthday of the accessible playground at Governor Phillip Park. The playground has been such a popular playspace for locals and visitors to the Park over the last twelve months,” he said.
In addition to the Governor Phillip Park first birthday celebration, activities will include free rides - a giant slide and maze jumping castle, face painting, roving entertainment, free hula hoop workshops and free juggling workshops, flyball dogs displays, giveaway showbags; Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter – promoting pets for adoption and microchipping; Library, Gallery, Museum – free interactive craft activities; Hawkesbury Community Nursery – free plants to be given away; Hawkesbury OASIS – inflatable games; Hawkesbury Visitor Information Centre – things to do in the local area, plus food trucks and 50 community groups and market stalls for a fun and festive event.
