Hawkesbury Library Service – COVID-19 Operational Update
We are excited to announce that you are now able to browse shelves and check items using the self-checkers at our Hawkesbury Libraries. There will be access to free Wi-Fi, more public computers and seating. At the Hawkesbury Central Library there will be access to study rooms.
Reduced hours will remain in place at the Hawkesbury Central Library; Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-1pm and Sunday 2-5pm. Richmond Branch Library will also be open to limited hours from Monday to Friday from 9.30am-5pm, Saturday 9am-1pm.
Hawkesbury Library Service operates within current COVID-19 safety guidelines for physical distancing and gatherings for the safety of staff and community members, with limits of people allowed in the Library at any one time. Your cooperation in observing these guidelines is required and appreciated.
Returning library items
The library return chutes remain available at both branches. All returned items will be wiped down with an detergent or disinfectant prior to be made available to the public.

Public access to newspapers is available.
The Deerubbin Centre meeting rooms, study rooms, desks and other seating spaces are now available. There will be space capacity limitations and social distancing will be in place for your visit.
From 21 July we will start to resume a weekly Tuesday JP service at the Central Library between 10.30am-11.30am. This JP Service will also be available at the Regional Gallery on Thursdays from 23 July 1pm-4pm.
From 3 August the Hawkebsury Central Library will resume some of the popular programs such as Knit with Friends and the Family History Group. However due to visitor limitations we will continue to suspend story time and rhyme time. We hope to resume this once it is safe to do so. In the meantime visit the library website and take advantage of the different online programs such as online weekly Storytime.
